The Psalms:
The book of Psalms is one book of the bible that has the most references to music. The greatest songs and psalms were by Moses, David, and Solomon. References are Psalms 92, 95:1-2, 96:1-2, 101:1, 104:33-34, 146:1-2, and 150.
In fact, there are more musical Psalms than those quoted above. Please, is it possible for you to take some time in your daily devotions to discover them all!

1 Samuel 18:6–7:

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.
Luke 1:46-55:
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
For He hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. In fact, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath done to me great things. And holy is his name.

Revelation 5:9-10,
Furthermore, they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof. That is because thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests. And, in fact, we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation 15:3-4.
Again, they sing the song of Moses the servant of God. That is the the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are thy works, Lord God Almighty. Just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? This is because thou only art holy. In fact, all nations shall come and worship before thee. This is because thy judgments re made manifest.

As a matter of fact, following the references in the next paragraphs will convince you that singing in worship places have always been a tradition.
Jesus and his disciples sang in Matthew 26:30.
So when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
Paul and Silas in jail sang: Acts 16:25.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed. Then, sang praises unto God. And the prisoners heard them.

So the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, were appointed to sound with cymbals of brass. And more in 1 Chronicles 16 and 2 Chronicles 5:13.
